6th-8th Grade
Students will be taught an introductory course to the main subjects in biology. Students will be given small assignments to aid them in the learning process, and they will be assigned a miniature research project at the end of the curriculum as a representation of their knowledge and skills. Topics covered will adhere to the FUSD science textbook required for all 7th grade students, the CA Focus on Life Science. These textbooks will be used as reference, but all lessons are crafted by instructors themselves. All lessons/classes are FREE.
9th-12th Grade
Students will go more into depth on conceptual ideas in biology and explore extranneous topics related to the content. Topics covered will include concepts in AP Biology, according to Collegeboard's guidelines. Students will be given more research to do and complete more complex assignments. At the end of the curriculum, students will be assigned a research project to demonstrate their learning. Topics covered will adhere to the FUSD approved textbooks Biology, by Miller/Lavine, and Biology in Focus. These textbooks will be used as reference, but all lessons will be crafted by instructors themselves. All lessons/classes are FREE.
