Unit 1: Introduction

This will set the foundation for introductory biology. Students will learn about the scientific method, inquiry, and measurements. 

Unit 2: Cells

Students will learn about the technologies used to study cells as well as cells' structures and functions. 

Unit 3: Genetics

Students will learn the foundations of heredity and modern genetics today. They will study certain methods scientists use to study genetics.

Unit 4: Evolution

Students will learn about the fundamentals surrounding evolution and will also explore ideas relating to geology. 

Unit 5: Eukaryotes, Viruses, and Plants

Students explore certain kingdoms of Eukarya, and learn about the general structure and function of viruses and plants. There will be an emphasis on current events regarding viruses. 

Unit 6: Invertebrates and Vertebrates

Students will learn about the general structure and function of invertebrates and vertebrates, with emphasis on specific model organisms

Unit 7: Physiology I

Students will be given an introduction on bones and muscles and how the circulatory and respiratory systems operate.

Unit 8: Physiology II

Students will end the unit, learning about the nervous and endocrine system as well as a brief overview of reproduction.

We understand if you do not wish for your child to learn certain concepts. If this is the case, please sign the optional exemption form below and email it to fremontbiologyacademy@gmail.com. Make sure to include in the subject line your child's name [Last name, First name] and the title "Exemption Form". This form's deadline is still TBD until registration has formerly opened.
